Call to Worship Subscription Volume 48

For more than 50 years, Call to Worship: Liturgy, Music, Preaching, and the Arts, a quarterly journal of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Office of Theology and Worship, has offered insight and inspiration for pastors, church musicians, artists, and other worship leaders. With revised and expanded features in the Lectionary Aids and thematic issues, now there’s even more to love.

The expanded Lectionary Aids issue (Year B, 2014–2015) now includes seasonal Calls to Confession, Declarations of Forgiveness, Prayers for Illumination, Ascriptions of Praise, Affirmations of Faith, Invitations to Offering, Prayers of Dedication, Prayers after Communion, and Blessings/Charges. For every Sunday and festival of the Christian year, the Lectionary Aids issue provides Calls to Worship, Opening Prayers, Prayers of Confession, Intercessions, and Eucharistic Prayers, along with hymn/song selections and psalm settings, recommended anthems for larger, smaller/youth, and children’s choirs, and suggestions for handbell and organ music. All of these materials will be available in print (48.1) and electronically through our website.

Look for the following thematic issues in Volume 48: Grace and Gratitude (48.2), examining the theological heartbeat of Reformed faith, life, and worship; The Season of Lent (48.3), fresh perspectives on the 40 days (46 including Sundays) before Easter; and New Worshiping Communities (48.4), a focus on the liturgical practices of newer communities of faith. Each thematic issue also includes regular columns on liturgy, music, preaching, and the arts; additional liturgical ideas and resources; book and music reviews; and liturgical artwork.

A one-year subscription—including four print issues and electronic access to the Lectionary Aids, archives of past issues, and other resources—costs $40.
