Biblical Authority for the Life of the Church
7042000009
This important paper, number 3 in the Office of Theology and Worship's "Church Issues Series," was produced by the United Reformed Church in the United Kingdom. The paper grows out of the URC's own struggles with sexuality issues and the debates over the Bible that are part of those struggles. It is valuable to Presbyterians because it illuminates unity/diversity matters by providing fresh perspectives on the crucial question of the Bible's authority in the church and by providing scriptural insights into contentious sexuality issues.

Definitions and Guidelines on Inclusive Language
7042001003
The 197th 1985 General Assembly adopted "Definitions and Guidelines on Inclusive Language" in response to a request for clarity on what "inclusive language" meant and how it might be integrated into the life of the church. This important document has served as a guide to the church on the use of inclusive language for over 15 years. The 212th General Assembly 2000 reaffirmed "Definitions and Guidelines on Inclusive Language" and requested that the Office of Theology and Worship make it available throughout the church. "Definitions and Guidelines on Inclusive Language" continues to be instructive, especially in its careful definitions, distinctions, and practical suggestions. The office of Theology and Worship is pleased to follow the directive of the 212th General Assembly in making it more available to the church.

Hope In The Lord Jesus Christ
